Finished just in Time!

"Fading Beauty"
5"x7" oil on artist board

I didn't know if I was going to make it.  The painting challenge from Paint and Draw Together, is due tomorrow.  I found it very difficult.  The shades of pinks and the shadows were beyond my ability BUT I did manage to pull off a version I'm pleased with.  The background was not very imaginative like some of the other artists achieved but I like it...  Maybe next month I'll do better.

The photo picked up a lot of shine that hid some of the green in the background.

Now back to the family portrait I'm still puttering at...

  2. Glad I am not the first to say it but I agree it is just beautiful. You are so good at painting flowers.

  3. You've achieved a beautiful tulip with a most gorgeous blush, Bonnie. Very well done indeed!

  4. I love the simplicity of the background. It's perfect! Don't sell yourself short. You are a wonderful artist!

  5. Thanks everyone! Blogging is so means I met all of you.

  6. Hi again BH.... a lovely...delicate piece in which "You" have captured its beauty ... and fragility admirably!

Cut flowers fade before your very eyes ...even as they do in the woodlands. As one response to one of my posts offered:

The beauty in a flower's fading fortells the arrival of summer... or something to that effect.

"The glass can be seen as half empty... or half full".Your choice!

In your case here... the glass is overflowing!

    Good painting!
    Warmest regards,

  7. Every person visualizes things differently and that's the beauty of participating in these challenges. Your rendition of the rose shows me it's delicacy and poise, the simple background a perfect backdrop. Look forward to your next ... E.

  8. Bonnie, I have loved viewing your blog. Beautiful rose!! I wanted to paint this for the challenge, but never got to it. I'm sure we will meet up in other challenges this month. Happy painting!!
